Young Adults Group

Welcome to the Young Adults Group

If you have recently joined us at St Tims we would like to welcome you to the church and hope that over the coming weeks and months you become part of the church family. It is our aim to get to know everybody who comes through the church doors so that you are soon able to feel comfortable and relaxed here.

Whether you are a student at University in Sheffield, have recently moved to the area or have just started to come to church we would like to provide fellowship so that people can get to know each other and explore their own faith. There are many ways and ideas to facilitate this and we would be very interested in any ideas you may have.

We would like to know whether people are interested in coming to monthly meetings/socials to consider topical issues, explore aspects of Christianity that are eminent in your life at the moment and share perspectives and interpretations of the Bible. This may involve for example watching films and discussing issues that have arisen or getting together to consider being a Christian in today's society.

The idea of talking about faith may be quite daunting! We all struggle with quantifying how we feel about certain issues and are quite often not really sure how we feel! It is important that people do feel comfortable and therefore the meetings will have a ‘social’ edge!

Other ways of becoming integrated into the church life are also available! On Sundays after church there are a number of people who are willing to provide lunch – keep your ears open for an invitation. You may be interested in joining a home group, this is a great way to get to know people from church by meeting weekly to discuss and consider Christianity. There are also social events that cater for the whole church which all are very welcome to, these usually happen on the second Sunday of the month.

The most important part of all of this is for you to feel ‘at home’ in St Tims. Whether you have just become a Christian, have been one for years or still have questions that need answering we want you to be able to explore your thoughts and feelings with others in an enjoyable environment.

We look forward to getting to know you.

Directions to St Tims

To get to St Tims, from Broomhill follow the Crookes road up the hill to Crookes, past the shops. Crookes Road changes its name to Northfield Road as it heads downhill to Walkley and at this point, turn right down Western Road (there's a telephone box on the corner) then take the first left down Slinn Street. St Tims is about 75m down the road on your left.

You can take the number 52 bus from town: it stops just opposite Western Road at the start of Northfield Road. (ask for Northfield Road)
